Cybersecurity, Post-Baccalaureate Certificate

The Cybersecurity certificate program is designed for professionals interested in network security, biometrics, cryptography and related areas. It is also part of the Professional Science Master’s in Cybersecurity degree program.

Student Learning Outcomes


  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge in computer networking, security, and cryptography for industry
  • Integrate principles and techniques of risk analysis, project planning, and change management in the development of information security strategies
  • Describe how to provide message privacy, integrity, authentication, and non-repudiation using network security practices and infrastructure hardening techniques
  • Address professional and ethical responsibilities including a respect for diversity

Admissions Requirements


• Completed application and $25 application fee (form available at www.pennwest.edu/apply).

• Bachelor’s degree with a GPA of 3.00 or higher from an accredited undergraduate institution. Students with a GPA below 3.00 or a degree outside the areas listed may apply for conditional admission.

• Prerequisite courses (if applicable) passed with a C or better grade
