ART 3013 - Socially Engaged Art

Credit Hours: 3

This course introduces students to art making focused on the aesthetics and functionality of human engagement. Unlike the tradition of creating physical or digital products, Socially Engaged Art (SEA) places its highest value on process. SEA practitioners often invoke a goal of social and/or political change via interventions within existing systems, especially through collaboration with community members, stakeholders, organizations or institutions.
