ENGL 3610 - History of the English Language


Credit Hours: 3

This course studies the English language from Anglo-Saxon times through early modern English, with emphasis on the diachronic development of grammatical and lexical patterns. Students will examine the historical effects of migration, invasion, language contact, and technology that influenced specific changes in English.

Prerequisite: ENGL 1200
