CMIS 3125 - Systems Analysis & Design


Credit Hours: 3

This course provides a comprehensive foundation in the system development life cycle (SDLC) to solve complex business problems through effective computing requirements. Students will learn to use Data Flow Diagrams (DFDs) to logically model business processes and system components. Additionally, students will apply Entity-Relationship Diagrams (ERDs) and normalization techniques to design robust relational databases. The curriculum also covers human-computer interaction for user interface design and evaluates diverse system architectures to ensure optimal performance and cost-benefit alignment.

Prerequisite: CMIS 1100  with a C- or better and CMIS 1200  with a C- or better and ENGL 1200  with a C- or better  and MGMT 3000  with a C- or better or permission of the instructor.
