NURS 3342 - Maternity and Pediatrics Clinical Credit Hours: 2
In this clinical course, students demonstrate application of content from NURS 3340 and NURS 3350 as well as previous courses. Patients include the childbearing family during ante-, intra- and post-partum stages as well as the newborn in a variety of settings and to children and their families in both acute and community settings. Students continue to develop therapeutic communication skills, clinical and professional judgement as a patient/family advocate. Health problems are approached using a nursing framework to deliver safe, quality care to individuals and their families. This course must be taken concurrently with the Pediatric and Maternity block of courses.
Prerequisite: NURS 2245 and PSYC 3317
