The BSBA in Finance and Personal Financial Planning at PennWest University prepares students to enter the finance and personal financial planning professions. This program prepares students for careers in banking, corporate/treasury management, financial analytics, corporate forecasting, and personal financial planning. This program is registered with the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc.; therefore, program graduates are eligible to sit for the CFP® exam. This program also prepares students to take the Securities Industry Essentials ® (SIE®) Exam.

Student Learning Outcomes
BSBA Program Level Outcomes - Demonstrate proficiency in foundational concepts of functional business areas
- Exhibit critical thinking skills for the collection, analysis, and application of data and concepts
- Display cultural competence for ethical, sustainable, inclusive, and collaborative leadership practices including a global perspective
- Effectively communicate in oral, written, visual, and digital format
Finance and Personal Financial Planning Major Outcomes - Integrate financial theories, methods, and concepts to achieve financial goals
- Evaluate how to best maximize efficiency through effective risk management, capital allocation, and management of resources
- Develop and communicate sound financial recommendations through an analysis of financial and market related information
Curriculum Requirements
Students must complete a minimum of 42 credits in advanced coursework per the PennWest graduation requirements policy. General Education
At least two disciplines must be represented within each of the following areas: Arts and Humanities, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences and Tech. For example: Students cannot have all courses with a prefix of BIOL in Natural Sciences and Tech. You must take courses from at least two different discipline areas (ie. BIOL and CHEM). |
