Nursing Traditional, BSN

The four-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing ( BSN) degree program is innovative in its approach to nursing education. Students must complete 120 credits to graduate. Students in Pennsylvania Western University BSN program will participate in nursing courses and critical thinking preparation for nursing practice beginning in the first semester. The curriculum combines professional nursing courses and a wealth of science courses to develop knowledge in preparation for the delivery of quality and safe patient care.

Curriculum Requirements


Students must complete a minimum of 42 credits in advanced coursework per the PennWest graduation requirements policy.

General Education


The minimum grade for all gen ed courses for nursing is a C-.

Required Major Courses


The BSN Traditional Nursing major GPA minimum is 3.0.

The minimum passing grade for all nursing (NURS) courses is a C (74%).  Nursing does not have minuses on their grading scale.

Total Credits: 120


Depending on the program of study, students may need to complete additional credits to ensure the total credit hour requirement is met.
