A minor in Spanish provides students with a broad understanding of the Spanish language and cultures, as well as Spanish language skills to conduct daily life and to perform some work-related tasks in their professional fields.

Student Learning Outcomes
- Students demonstrate listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills at the intermediate level of Spanish, consistent with the National Standards for Foreign Language Education.
- Students identify and analyze literary, historical and cultural products of the Spanish-speaking world within a broad historical framework.
- Students demonstrate critical thinking skills in comparing cultural products and practices of the Spanish-speaking world with their own cultures.
Curriculum Requirements
Students must complete a minimum of 6 credits of advanced standing per the PennWest minor policy. Electives
9 credits from any course with a SPAN prefix and at least 6 credits must be advance coursework |
