Students in the Museum and Gallery Studies Minor gain experience and a deeper understanding of the history, theory, and practice of museums and galleries through an array of interdisciplinary courses. The minor emphasizes experiential learning as many of the courses focus on engaging students in their communities, learning by doing, and critical reflection.

Student Learning Outcomes
- Demonstrate knowledge of current issues in curatorial research, museum display, collection management, stakeholder identification, and community engagement.
- Recognize and employ appropriate materials, techniques, and media as they relate to museums and galleries.
- Identify, analyze, and evaluate historical, critical, social, and ethical concerns, related to the display and understanding of (art) objects.
Curriculum Requirements
Students must complete a minimum of 6 credits of advanced standing per the PennWest minor policy. |
