The Associate of Applied Science in Applied Technology offers training for high-demand careers in Pennsylvania. Students complete general education, technology, and business courses either on campus or online, while also earning technical credits through approved, certified, or accredited technical education providers. This program has a unique structure that allows students to gain hands-on experience while attending PennWest University or transfer in technical certifications or training from other accredited institutions.
The Plastics Injection Molding concentration is currently working closely with the American Injection Molding Institute (AIM) to help students advance their careers in this field. Through AIM’s coursework, students will study topics like plastics materials, mold design, injection molding processes, part design, and Autodesk Moldflow simulation, focusing on real-world applications and industry outcomes. The PennWest courses complement this by preparing students for a variety of careers in the industry.
The program offers hands-on training at AIM’s state-of-the-art Injection Molding Lab while students attend one of PennWest’s campuses, taking courses either in person or online. Through this partnership, AIM graduates can earn up to 25 Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) credits that can be applied toward the AAS-AT degree at PennWest.
