Computer Information Systems, Minor

This undergraduate minor combines knowledge of leading-edge information technologies and systems methodologies with an understanding of the evolving needs of today’s dynamic business environment. The program provides fundamentals courses to develop analytical and programming skills required to analyze and document system requirements and to design, develop and implement information solutions. The program should be of interest to students who wish to consider the use and development of information systems in their own professional disciplines.

Student Learning Outcomes


  • Analyze a complex computing problem and to apply principles of computing and other relevant disciplines to identify solutions.
  • Design a computing-based solution to meet a given set of computing requirements in the context of the program’s discipline.
  • Implement and evaluate a computing-based solution to meet a given set of computing requirements in the context of the program’s discipline.

Admission Requirements


GPA : no restrictions or grade requirement to start the program

A maximum of 9 credits will be allowed to be shared between a major and minor.
