This professional bachelor’s degree program is delivered 100% online with classes beginning for new students in the fall and spring. Transfer students that need varying general education and elective courses may enter into the program in the fall, winter, spring or summer terms. Courses combine a comprehensive education in reading, writing and speaking Modern Standard Arabic with a wide range of instruction in Arabic culture.

Student Learning Outcomes


  • Students will acquire and demonstrate listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills at the Intermediate-High level of the target language (Arabic) consistent with the National Standards for Foreign Language Education.
  • Students will acquire and demonstrate skills necessary to analyze and compare cultural products and practices of the target culture (Arabic).
  • Students will be able to identify and analyze major literary, historical and cultural products of the target culture (Arabic) and situate those products within a broad historical framework.
  • Students will demonstrate the ability to use library and technological resources that allow them to access and analyze literary works, and cultural products and practices related to the target language (Arabic). 
  • Students will also acquire and demonstrate basic listening, speaking, reading, and writing basic skills at the elementary level in either Spanish, French, or Chinese to analyze and compare linguistics and cultural aspects and practices between Arabic, Spanish, French, & Chinese languages.
