The Associate of Applied Science in Applied Technology provides workplace ready training in many of Pennsylvania’s high priority careers. Students complete general education, technology, and business courses either on campus or online and the technical component of the degree through licensed, certified, accredited, and/or otherwise approved technical education providers. This program utilizes a unique model which permits students to complete field training while attending PennWest University, or to transfer in their certification or training previously received from other accredited institutions. The concentration in Aeronautical Science works in collaboration with partnering flight schools to prepare students for careers as professional pilots, while earning their Associate of Applied Science degree. The flight and ground school is provided by a flight school certified by the Federal Aviation Administration or, alternatively, this training may be satisfied by possession of a current license/certification at the appropriate level. This portion of the training has additional associated costs depend on how the flight training requirements are satisfied.
