Face-to-Face Option for Traditional On-Campus Students

The 120-credit Bachelor of Science degree in medical imaging sciences is a two-plus-two program that requires completion of approximately 60 credits of allied health, science, math, and general education course work followed by completion of a two-year program of clinical study in either radiologic technology or ultrasound (diagnostic medical sonography) offsite at a JRCERT or CAAHEP accredited clinical school with which PennWest has a formal affiliation agreement. Most of the coursework in the four-year program is completed face-to-face.

Affiliated clinical schools have limited capacity and competitive admission standards. Admission to PennWest’s medical imaging sciences program does not guarantee admission to an affiliated clinical school for radiologic technology or ultrasound.

Graduates of the four-year medical imaging sciences program are eligible to sit for the national credentialing examination in radiography or ultrasound.

Online Degree Completion Option for Credentialed Professionals

Individuals who have already completed a formal accredited program in medical imaging sciences (radiologic technology, ultrasound, radiation therapy, nuclear medicine, or medical dosimetry) and who are professionally credentialed may earn the 120-credit Bachelor of Science degree in medical imaging sciences completely online through PennWest. Eligible candidates will be awarded between 30-60 clinical credits for successful completion of a formal educational program and with proof of professional credentialing as follows:
