The Arts Administration minor is designed to give students enrolled in undergraduate fine arts programs (Art, Graphic Design, Music, Theater, etc.) a relevant background in the business disciplines in order to meet growing demand for people able to apply specialized business knowledge to the arts industries. Arts administration can refer to the management of arts organizations of all kinds. Relevant positions can be found in the nonprofit sector, for performance groups, for arts councils, and for museums, or in the for-profit sector (for example, artist management in the music industry, or managing an art gallery). Through the study of both art and contemporary business theory and practice, and a required internship students will gain a first-hand experience of the art marketplace.
