A minor in Spanish provides students with a broad understanding of the Spanish language and cultures, as well as Spanish language skills to conduct daily life and to perform some work-related tasks in their professional fields.

Student Learning Outcomes

Students demonstrate listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills at the intermediate level of Spanish, consistent with the National Standards for Foreign Language Education.
Students identify and analyze literary, historical and cultural products of the Spanish-speaking world within a broad historical framework.
Students demonstrate critical thinking skills in comparing cultural products and practices of the Spanish-speaking world with their own cultures.
