The Diversity and Multicultural Competence Certificate provides students with the education to develop their thinking on diverse populations and to become more aware and inclusive of individuals different from them.

Student Learning Outcomes


  • Students will identify the influences of group dynamics, stereotyped thinking, attribution error, prejudice and scapegoating on human functioning.
  • Students will identify the effects of culture(s) as a moderating variable in human interaction as an influence on personality development.
  • Students will apply critical thinking and synthesizing skills to diverse contexts
  • Students will confront their own unexamined views of race and gender, further developing their own racial and gender identities.
  • Students will become more aware and inclusive of individuals who are different from them.
