Ceramics, Minor

The Ceramics minor introduces hand-building and wheel throwing techniques. Creativity, craftsmanship and problem solving are emphasized as students learn to create both functional pottery and sculpture. Students study historical and contemporary ceramic works as they learn to express aesthetic ideas in their own creative work. Low fire and high fire surface techniques will be explored along with electric and gas kiln firings.
