ART 3213 - Sculpture Metal Casting


Credit Hours: 3

This sculpture course will provide the knowledge to cast non-ferrous metals using different techniques through the applications of foundry process. The student will develop an understanding of four different types of mold making methods for casting metal. This includes styro-burnouts, bonded sand, traditional investment and ceramic shell molds applications. In conjunction to learning the specifics to each method, the student will acquire knowledge of mold making, foundry set-up to pour, safety procedures, casting and clean-up and finishing.

Prerequisite: ART 2004  or ART 2010  or ART 2013  or ART 2014
